This is one of the most intensely aesthetically driven films I've seen. Years later I still vividly remember much of the imagery. It is so completely faithful to its own atmosphere, it really excels where similar mid-century mood pieces failed.
Architects dressed for the ball as their most well known building. I especially love how William Van Alen went all out with his Chrysler Building costume.
